Non-surgical option
Patients without giving-way episodes and without pivoting-sport requirements may sometimes recover good function with rehabilitation.
When reconstruction helps
Repeated instability, pivoting sports, demanding work or associated repairable injuries can make reconstruction more appropriate.
Anterolateral reconstruction
In selected higher-risk patients, Dr Stanovici combines ACL reconstruction with an anterolateral ligament reconstruction to address rotational instability.
Meniscus protection
Repeated instability can lead to secondary meniscal injury; restoring stability is therefore also part of long-term joint preservation.
